The Swiss Entrepreneurship Program supports entrepreneurs in developing their growth-oriented businesses. They are the key drivers of innovation, economic growth and job creation.
Innovation is one of the main drivers of long-term sustainable growth in any economy and the only unlimited source of prosperity. Countries all around the world depend on entrepreneurs to develop ideas and turn them into new products and services. Eventually, their businesses create new jobs that are better paid and offer more opportunities to employees. However, entrepreneurs depend on favourable local conditions in order to be successful, commonly referred to as the “entrepreneurial ecosystem” (EE). The EEs in many emerging markets are in early stages and need help to develop into effective support environments.
The development objective of the Swiss Entrepreneurship Program is to create jobs, facilitate tailored access to finance for entrepreneurs and to improve support mechanisms throughout the business growth cycle by strengthening (selected) local EEs in Peru, Vietnam, Serbia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia and Kosovo.
