Such a great pleasure for the Swiss Albanian Chamber of Commerce to attend the roundtable organized by the Center for the Study of Democracy and Governance (CSDG) with the topic: “Concentration of economic power and the need to strengthen democracy in a transitional economy: The case of Albania”.
This roundtable aimed to address the need to limit private interests on politics and the economy, as a consolidated practice with negative consequences for long-term and sustainable development economic and social of the country.
The consequences created by clientelist relationships and favoritism have emphasized the presence of problems such as market monopolization, lack of competition, low economic well-being, lack of information and unemployment, the increase of inequalities and the violation of social cohesion, undermining the trust of citizens in state institutions.
