Tirana Business University
Tirana Business University College is an educational institution that prepares professionals in the fields of Business Administration and Information Technology, in the context of global market development.
Established in 2010, TBU became part of the BALFIN Group in 2014, one of the largest business groups in the Western Balkans and beyond, founded by entrepreneur and philanthropist Samir Mane.
Since its inception in October 2010, TBU has received institutional licence and accreditation for all study programs with Decision no. 326, dated 15.08.2013, from the Minister of Education of Albania. TBU has graduated 11 generations of students in bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Over 86% of TBU students are employed during their studies in well-known businesses such as Tirana Bank, Raiffeisen Bank, Neptun Albania, Spar Albania, Mane Development, BALFIN Real Estate, BALFIN Shpk, Deloitte, Credins, Philip Morris, and other companies abroad.
In 2023, BALFIN Group became the main shareholder and took over the management of Tirana Business University, giving it a new boost for development in terms of raising standards, quality, scientific research, and infrastructure investments. A new university campus in one of the most dynamic business areas in Tirana was BALFIN’s first elevation in making TBU the biggest success story for Albanian universities.
TBU aims to prepare students with the knowledge and skills necessary to face the challenges of an increasingly competitive job market and contribute to the economic development of the country.
Through offering study programs tailored to market needs and through partnerships with industry and the business community, Tirana Business University College aims to educate a new generation of professionals who will be prepared for the challenges and opportunities of a global market. This aligns with the needs of the continuous development of the Albanian economy and the requirements of a modern society integrated into the international market.

Reorganization of the two main units: “Faculty of Business Administration” and “Faculty of Law” into one: “Faculty of Business and Law”, with the base units:
- Department of Business and Finance,
- Center for Economic Research and Studies
Building up the “Faculty of Technology and Information” with the base units:

The reorganized ACADEMIC ACTIVITY relaunched in the academic year 2023-2024.
The focus of TBU’s resources and efforts in these two directions (business administration and information technology) aims to shape TBU as a “niche” College in the Albanian higher education market, where BALFIN Group itself has outstanding competencies and skills. This specialization strategy aims to create tangible advantages, especially in positioning TBU as an important actor in the labor market and in the process of rapid and quality employment.
This positioning model in the market aims for a higher level of efficiency and effectiveness in overall management and academic success of the institution, as well as helping to create a unique profile and distinguished reputation for TBU in the higher education market in the country.
TBU’s priorities are in line with those of Higher Education in Albania, specifically:
- Support for academic excellence.
- Enhancement of the reputation of study programs at TBU.
- Advancement in research, studies, and creative activities.
- Tracking the employment trajectory of graduates in the labor market
- Support and promotion of the “TBU Alumni” network.
