Swiss Albanian Chamber of Commerce was glad to be part of the last meeting of the Albania Investment Council. Chaired by the Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation, Mr Blendi Gonxhja, members of the Investment Council convened today to discuss private sector challenges related to fiscal administration, innovation, and productivity. An evidence-based discussion, thanks to a prior analysis by the Secretariat, to prioritize effective interventions for impactful solutions.
In focus, some of the main challenges that Albania faces in competitiveness compared to regional and EU countries that hinder its overall competitiveness and call for targeted interventions to address them effectively:
– Limited entrepreneurial and technological expertise.
– Unmet investment demands in both human and physical capital.
– Continued low level of research and development spending.
– A growing shortage of skilled labor.
