At a roundtable discussion with the Parliament’s Committee on Citizens’ Initiatives, Inter-institutional Cooperation and Oversight, Members of Parliament, civil society organizations, and media representatives discussed ways to enhance the effectiveness of parliamentary oversight in Albania.
The discussion highlighted the importance of stronger collaboration between Parliament, independent institutions, civil society, and other oversight bodies to ensure greater accountability and transparency.
“Switzerland’s support for the Albanian Parliament emphasizes particularly the fact that the legislative body needs to oversee the executive effectively and independently,” said Philipp Arnold, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Switzerland.
